After a couple million bucks in renovations, Berkeley Park is tremendously improved from when we moved in to the neighborhood a year ago. With a berm built to block the noise from I-70 along with a wide, lovely walking/running path around the lake, the park is now a jewell instead of an eye-sore.

Eldorado Mountain is a mountain summit on the eastern flank of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. The 8,344-foot peak is located 8.1 miles south by west of downtown Boulder, Colorado, United States. The mountain is largely in Boulder County but it straddles the border and its southern flanks are located in Jefferson County. Its name was probably borrowed from the nearby community of Eldorado Springs.

Flatirons Vista Trail is a loop trail (3.3 mile) leading out from the trailhead westward through open stands of ponderosa pine before the junction with Doudy Draw Trail. Prairie Vista (0.9 mile) connects with Flatirons Vista South and offers visitors an opportunity to do a shorter loop back to the trailhead.

From the trailhead visitors may take the Marshall Valley Trail to the east or the Coal Seam Trail south. South Boulder Peak Trail is a 7.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Eldorado Springs, Colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until November.

Standley Lake is a 1,200-acre (4.9 km 2) reservoir located in Westminster, Colorado. While originally constructed to provide water for the agricultural irrigation of the surrounding region northwest of Denver, it now serves primarily as the municipal water supply for the cities of Westminster, Northglenn, and Thornton.

Van Bibber Park Van Bibber Park offers an urban get-away as well as a home and migration stop for wildlife. The Van Bibber Creek wetlands provide wildlife habitat, which can be viewed from an observation deck. Visitors enjoy mountain vistas from soft-surface trails that meander through open meadows and a 1.5-mile concrete trail that travels the length of the park and offers accessibility for strollers and wheelchairs.
Welchester Tree Grant Park Welchester Tree Grant Park, the smallest park in the Jeffco Open Space system, is home to a historic grove of trees dating to 1878. The area is now home to many species of plants and wildlife, a peaceful stream and an idyllic 0.4-mile trail.

Many Primary Trails are also Regional in nature, linking to other cities and counties outside Arvada's boundaries. Some popular trails are the Ralston Creek Trail, Van Bibber Trail, and Little Dry Creek Trail. Arvada is also home to many additional neighborhood trails that are shorter in length.
The largest park in the Jeffco Open Space system, White Ranch Park has 20 miles of multi-use trails over both gentle and rugged terrain. Natural-surface trails criss-cross the property with the exception of two Sensitive Areas, including Ralston Buttes, which can be accessed only by permit.
