Beach Park really doesn't have enough fans! I mean where else can you find a skate park riverside in town? Beach is located on the corner of two fairly busy streets (Rosedale and Oak). The intersection can get a little noisy, just FYI. But the park is large and you can escape much of the Bakersfield heat with the large shade trees here.

The California Living Museum is a place that concentrates on the local wildlife wildlife that comes from California and can be seen around Kern County and throughout The state. It is a very nice place for children and has plenty of things to do including toys to climb on, lots of exhibits that are down low so the kids can see inside, and even an area where they can feed and pet some of the animals.
Centennial Park offers a little something for all it's visitors, both the two footed and the four footed. There are two full basketball courts which were being used for pick up games the afternoon I was there. Two tennis courts and two horseshoe courts are also available for the sporty types.
Since this park is a little out of town and in the middle of the city in the hills development, there isn't a lot of people there (and those who are live in the area). The park is clean and has all kinds of stuff for the kids to play on for all age ranges.

This park is soooo old it has some really cool light poles with designs. the side I was taking pictures on was clean the tables were clean and for it being in the hood.....not very many bums anymore. the pool is now a spray park....they changed all the toys the baseball diamond is still there and lots of people use it often. it has become a family park that kids enjoy again.
