The event was sponsored by LU, LIT and the Greater South Park Neighborhoods Partnership with the support of many organizations who work together to support the community in a myriad of ways.

For the last 70 years, the Beaumont Art League (BAL) has been a member-supported, nonprofit organization that supports visual art and arts education to Southeast Texas. We host a variety of art shows, exhibitions, classes, workshops, and other events throughout the year at our galleries in at the old fairgrounds.

Spindletop is a salt dome oil field located in the southern portion of Beaumont, Texas in the United States. The Spindletop dome was derived from the Louann Salt evaporite layer of the Jurassic geologic period. On January 10, 1901, a well at Spindletop struck oil ("came in").
If one had asked him on January 10, he would have said the great gusher at Spindletop - a salt dome about three miles south of Beaumont. Dubbed "The Lucas Gusher," the oil discovery on Spindletop Hill changed the economy of Texas and helped to usher in the petroleum age.
