Bemowo is a district of Warsaw located in the western part of the city. Its territory covers the western belt of the former district of Wola, which was incorporated to Warsaw in the year 1951. The name of the district derives from the surname of General Józef Bem.
The Heritage Interpretation Centre - branch of Museum of Warsaw . The Heritage Interpretation Centre is a welcoming place; a visit here may be a good introduction to the history of the Old Town. The Centre aims to inform on the history of the reconstruction of the Old Town which has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Praga Museum of Warsaw, on the right bank of the Vistula River, is unique in that it was created with the active involvement of the local community. The community continues to be engaged in its activities, which often extend far beyond the Museum’s walls.
