Things to do in Berbera, SO

The walk from the main road to the caves would take well over an hour each way and would be hot, dusty and not very fun. Our travel was arranged through the Oriental Hotel. We paid $350 USD for the car, driver and required armed-guard for two nights in Berbera with a stop in Las Geel.

Berbera is located in coastal region of Somaliland Republic. An old port city, it has the only sheltered harbour on the southern side of the Gulf of Aden. The landscape around town, along with Somaliland's coastal lowlands, is semi-arid land.

For those with a sense of adventure–especially women, who are a rare sight on most Somali beaches–the Berbera Coast in the Gulf of Aden is one site to consider adding to your bucket list of adventure dives.
