The Bitola Zoo, is a zoo in Bitola, Macedonia, founded on 1 May 1950 with the help of the Skopje's, Zagreb's, Belgrade's and Subotica's zoos. The Bitola zoo plays a significant role in the sphere of social living, especially in the sector of education as well as the protection of certain animal species.
Bitola is the second largest city in Macedonia with a history dating back to the middle of the 4 th century B.C. Back then it was known to the ancient world as Heraclea Lyncestis, a city founded by Phillip II of Macedon (father of Alexander the Great). For this, Bitola is the oldest city in the Republic of Macedonia.

Heraclea Lyncestis, also spelled Herakleia Lynkestis (Greek: Ἡράκλεια Λυγκηστίς; Latin: Heraclea Lyncestis; Macedonian: Хераклеа Линкестис), was an ancient Greek city in Macedon, ruled later by the Romans. Its ruins are situated 2 km south of the present-day town of Bitola, Macedonia.
FK Pelister, was formed in 1945. In 1946 they won the Bitola regional title and that same year they merged with Rabotnik. They won the Bitola title in 1950 and 1951 again. During that time the most influential players were: Georgievski, Dimitrovski, Petrovski, Naumovski, Lazarevski, Sekerdžievski, Avramovski, Nestorov and Eftimovski.
Isak (Ishak) Celebi Mosque (Kadi Ishak Çelebi Cami or Ishakkiye) is the largest and main mosque in Bitola, situated along the north bank of the Dragor River. This area was known as Bit pazar in the quarter of Emir Bey or Eyne Bey, also known as Ishak Çelebi mahalle.

Work is under way at the historic Jewish cemetery in Bitola, Macedonia, to create a memorial park there commemorating the large local Jewish community murdered in the Holocaust. The site will be called the Memorial Park for the Jews from Monastir (another historic name for Bitola).

Neolica massif seen from the village of Bukovo The Neolica ridge is one of the most interesting areas of the Baba mountain. It can be very easily reached. Actually, it is the closest part of the Baba mountain to the Bitola (major city in the region).
Pelister National Park is a national park in the Municipality of Bitola, Republic of Macedonia. The park is located in the Baba Mountain massif and covers an area of 171.5 square kilometres (66.2 sq mi). The altitude of the park varies between 927 and 2,601 m (3,041 and 8,533 ft) above sea level and is filled with exquisite flora and fauna.
