Charles Aznavour Square (Armenian: Շառլ Ազնավուրի Հրապարակ) is a large square at the northern part of Gyumri city, Armenia. It is considered the 3rd square of the city after the Vardanants Square and the Independence Square. The square is intersected by the following streets: Vazgen Sargsyan street from the northwest.
Mher "Frunzik" Mkrtchyan was born in Leninakan (present day Gyumri) to father Mushegh Mkrtchyan and mother Sanam Mkrtchyan, both of whom were orphaned survivors of the Armenian Genocide. Mushegh Mkrtchyan fled to Gyumri from Mush, while Sanam escaped the genocide from Van.

The Mother Armenia (Armenian: Մայր Հայաստան Mayr Hayastan) monumental statue is a female personification of Armenia, located in the city of Gyumri. It resembles the monumental complex of Mother Armenia in the capital Yerevan. It was erected in 1975 on a hill west of Gyumri city. It was composed by sculptors Ara Sargsian and Yerem Vartanyan.

Sev Berd or Black Fortress (Armenian: Սև բերդ; Russian: Чёрная Кре́пость, Chornaya Krepost) is an abandoned Russian imperial fortress in Gyumri, Shirak Province, Armenia. The fortress, which lies 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from the Turkish border, was built in response to the Russo-Turkish War of 1828–1829.
Vartanants Square (Armenian: Վարդանանց Հրապարակ Vartanants Hraparak) or Vardanants Square, is the large central town square in Gyumri, Armenia. It is bordered by the Abovyan street from the west, Gai street from the north, Shahumyan street from the east and Vahan Cheraz street from the south. It has a rectangular shape (280 by 140 meters).
Visit Zoravar Andranik Statue to see a depiction of the most important Armenian national heroes. The statue shows General Andranik riding two prancing horses, his raised sword signifying victory. Andranik's two horses represent East and West Armenia fighting against foreign repression as one.
