In 1885 werd het Hofje In den Groenen Tuyn verbouwd, waarbij het aantal woningen van 20 naar 18 ging. Ook kwam er een nieuw hoofdgebouw, aan de Warmoestraat. Dit is ontworpen door architect C.R. Robbers, die ook het Hofje van Beresteyn aan de Lange Herenstraat ontwierp. Dit hoofdgebouw is de huidige toegang tot het hofje.
