Mount Hijiri (聖岳, Hijiri-dake) is a mountain located in the Akaishi Mountains in both Aoi-ku, Shizuoka, Shizuoka Prefecture and Iida, Nagano Prefecture, in the Chūbu region of Japan. It is 3,013 m (9,885 ft) tall and part of the Akaishi Mountains.
Mt. Chausu (1,415m) is the highest peak of Aichi prefecture. It is the place within the prefecture where maple, beech and other trees start changing their colors the earliest. Also, the colored leaves viewed from Chausuyama Kogen Road (toll free) are special.
From Shirabiso Highland (1,900m above sea level), Shimoguri-no-sato Village (1,000m above sea level), one can enjoy viewing the colorful autumn leaves such as rowan and maples (kaede and momiji) against the backdrop of the South Alps with mountains as high as 3,000m.
