Former JR Izumo Taisha Station 旧JR大社駅. Jake Davies. The Taisha Line was a branch line of what is now JR West that connected the Izumoshi Station on the Sanin Line with Izumo Taisha in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. Only 7.5 kilometers long, and with only three stations, it was closed in 1990 and all traces of it have gone save for the terminal station, Izumo Taisha.
Izumo Hinomisaki lighthouse stands 43.65 meters high near Hinomisaki Shrine. It is the highest stone masonry lighthouse in Japan and registered among the top 100 historic lighthouses of the world. You will be able to enjoy the panoramic view of the Japan Sea from the top of the lighthouse. The entrance fee is 200 yen.
Lake Shinji (宍道湖, Shinji-ko) is a lake in the northeast area of the Shimane Prefecture in Japan. The lake is the seventh largest in Japan, with a circumference of 48 kilometres (30 mi). It is enclosed by the Shimane Peninsula to the north, and the Izumo and Matsue plains to the west and east respectively. 7,652 ha of wetland are a Ramsar Site.
For starters, this myth describes how the entirety of the Shimane Peninsula was formed. The rope that became Sono-no-Nagahama is the beach that stretches along the west coast of Izumo City, and the stake that held it in place, Mt. Sahime, is Mt. Sanbe in Oda City.
Ranpu no Yu is a Japanese Onsen / Hot spring resort in Izumo 出雲 Shimane 島根. It is conveniently located a 2min walk from the South exit of JR Izumoshi Station JR出雲市駅. It is a fine establishment indeed with a dark interior lit up by electric and some oil lamps giving it a relaxing atmosphere.

Train: It is a 10 minute walk from Izumo Taisha mae Station on the Ichibata Railway. Bus: Visitors take the bus bound for Izumo Taisha or Izumo Taisha & Hinomisaki from JR Izumoshi Station and it is a one minute walk after you get off at Izumo-taisha Stop.
