The City of Jackson Fire Museum became a reality in 1993 when a bond issue was passed by the citizens in the amount of $468,000 to renovate the Goodyear building on Woodrow Wilson. In this renovation, Station 10 would be housed, a fire museum established, and the Public Fire Safety Education Division relocated to form a complex to address all aspects of the past and present of the fire department.
FLOWOOD NATURE PARK Located behind the Flowood Elementary (4077 Flowood Drive) 40 acres off Flowood Drive just beyond Winner's Circle Park, and adjacent to Flowood Elementary. A one mile, paved, distance-marked walking trail runs from the parking lot around the lake and into a wooded area on the rear of the park.

The King Edward Hotel, built in 1923 as the Edwards Hotel, is an historic hotel in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. The second of two buildings located on the site at the corner of Capitol and Mill Streets, it was closed and vacant for nearly 40 years before renovations began in 2006.
The Merci Train, also known as the French Gratitude Train or the Forty and Eight, was the 1949 Europe-US response to the Friendship Train. Composed of 49 cars and filled with "gifts of gratitude", the Merci Train arrived in New York City on February 3, 1949, and was divided amongst the 48 states with the remaining car to be shared by the District of Columbia and Hawaii.

Natchez Trace Multi-Use Trail. Bicyclists, walkers and joggers can access the Natchez Trace Multi-Use Trail from Reservoir Overlook's parking area. This is the northern terminus of the trail. Further south the trail joins the Ridgeland Multi-Use Path.

Virtually the entire park is tree covered, which is awesome to protect you from the sun while you're exercising. For the most part, there is always at least one other person on the trail. Almost every time I've been for a run on the trail there has been 5-10 other people on the trail.
When the coming Robinson Springs Mall turns this hillside into retail stores, the spring will come out of the underbrush and into a courtyard; and it will be a lot easier to visit the place that first attracted the people to settle and create the city of Clinton.
