Ksar el Kebir is a city found in Tanger-Tetouan, Morocco. It is located 35.00 latitude and -5.91 longitude and it is situated at elevation 17 meters above sea level. Ksar el Kebir has a population of 108,753 making it the 4th biggest city in Tanger-Tetouan. It operates on the CET time zone, which means that it follows the same time zone as Tangier.

The village is supposedly named after Moulay Bouselham, the “man in the cape” who came from Egypt to settle by Merja Zerga before being killed in the Battle of the Three Kings in Ksar El Kebir’s neighbouring El Oued Makhazine.Moulay Bouselham is not only the namesake of the town, but also its patron saint.

MOULAY BOUSSELHAM, 55km from Ksar el Kebir, is a very low-key resort, popular almost exclusively with Moroccans. It comprises little more than a single street, crowded with grill-cafés and sloping down to the sea at the side of a broad lagoon and wetland area, known as Merja Zerga.
