Historians believe the Alexander River, known in Hebrew as Nachal Alexander, was named after Arab watermelon merchant Aixander Abu Zbura who became wealthy by exporting watermelons to Egypt and Lebanon. Located between the cities of Hadera and Netanya, the Alexander River is one of the few rivers along the Mediterranean shore that flows all year long. The just under 2-mile long route is perfect for a hike or a bicycle ride.
Every evening there is a party on the beach. These parties attract youngsters from everywhere, including Herzliyya, Kefar Sava, Ra'anana and the surrounding settlements, and are a great pride for Netanya. The beach is accessible on foot from Sironit Beach or Poleg Beach. The stretch of beach from Argaman to Blue Bay Beach is 9 km.

Today Beit Habe’er serves as a museum for the history of Netanya in the years 1928-1948, a period of twenty years in which the city had a small town (moshava) status. What’s at the site: a visitor and guidance center for the history of Netanya and the settlement of “Pardes Hagdud”.
Netanya is home to the Poleg nature reserve and the Irises Dora Rainpool nature park containing the world's largest population of iris atropurpurea. At the center of the park is a rainpool which fills up with water in the winter months, and dries up over the summer months.

Nahal Alexander (Hebrew: נחל אלכסנדר ) is a river in Israel that flows from the western side of the Samaria mountain belt in the West Bank to the Mediterranean Sea, north of Netanya. The length of the river is about 45 km. Several small streams flow into Nahal Alexander: Nablus, Te'enim, Ometz, Bahan, and Avihail.
Netanya's main beach, Sironit Beach is located below the Rishonim Promenade, accessible by the transparent sea elevator. Two breakwaters, a symbol of Netanya, are set up opposite the beach creating tranquil bays which enable safe swimming almost all year round. The beach is open mornings for early risers interested in exercising from 6:30 a.m.
The beach is located near Ramat Poleg and the Green Beach Hotel on the southern side of Netanya City. The beach remained closed for many years, but with initiative from Netanya mayor, Mrs. Miriam Feirberg-Ikar, it was reopened after it was proven to be perfectly clean and safe.
