I read about the Eaton Canyon trail in an article listing the eight best hikes in Southern California with the best payoffs (this one having the BEAUTIFUL waterfall at the end), and it was right! We hiked up to henninger flats from eaton canyon nature center. 1.5 miles from eaton canyon to the base of the henninger flats hike. Would recommend sunscreen. Sunglasses. Wide brim hat as there is no shade up this trail. Snacks. Water. For some reason this trail felt more strenuous than the hike up to inspiration point.
