The first beach resort charging 10 pesos per person right at the end of the road isn’t that good, too many seaweeds and water is so shallow, so we headed few meters to the next one. The water is also shallow maybe because it’s early in the morning but the place is a lot better than the first one.

Off the beaten track, and not in Puerto Princesa really, are the Salakot Waterfalls. They are down the south National Highway, past Iwahig prison, coming from Puerto Princesa City, and then down to a wooden sign that says Napsan, turn there and keep going about 40 Kilometers, maybe a little more.

Starfish Island is a small island with a few cottages that are available for picnicking island-hoppers. Its main island made up of white sand and is surrounded by greenish waters. A few palm trees grow on the island with a mangrove forest grew on the eastern side of the island. The island lacks commercial conveniences so if you intent to stay you need to bring lunch with you.
Thumb Peak is a small mountain in central Palawan, Philippines, and is the highest point in the Thumb Range. Like Mount Mantalingahan and Mount Victoria further south, Thumb Peak is part of the Mount Beaufort Ultramafics geological area, a series of ultramafic outcrops of Eocene origin that emerge in various parts of the island.
