A hidden redwood forest lies off Redwood Road just a few miles over the ridge from downtown Oakland. The forest's peaceful groves give little evidence of the park's bustling past – in the mid-1800s the area was the scene of extensive logging to supply building materials for the San Francisco Bay Area.
Cherry Grove Park This 4-acre neighborhood park, is located on Leonard Drive at Williams Street. The park provides neighborhood-oriented facilities, including picnic areas and tennis courts. The park is adjacent to the large open spaces of John Muir School.
Don Castro Regional Park is a 101-acre urban oasis on the boundary between Hayward and Castro Valley. The clear blue waters of the swim lagoon are a favorite with central Alameda County residents. The lagoon and adjacent lake were created in 1964 when the Alameda Flood Control and Water Conservation District dammed San Lorenzo Creek.
City Parks San Leandro is proud of its extensive park system which includes 23 parks and recreation facilities including community and neighborhood parks, swimming pools and sports fields. Park facilities encourage a variety of activities including running and walking, picnicking, tennis, softball, and swimming.
Vehicle Access Permits and Amplified Sound are not permitted at Halcyon Park. Inflatables are allowed in: AREAS 1 & 5 ONLY during the picnic season, April 1 – October 31 with proper permit only. Only companies from our approved list are allowed to place inflatables in San Leandro Parks.
Marina Park Located off Monarch Bay Drive near Fairway Drive, this 30-acre regional park that borders the beautiful San Leandro Shoreline. Amenities include picnic areas with barbecue grills, play apparatus, three newly renovated large group picnic areas, a large grassy area and a mile-long par course.
The Tidewater Boating Center, located off Tidewater Avenue in Oakland, sits on the shore of the Oakland Estuary in San Leandro Bay at Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline. This shoreline complex has an ADA accessible dock that is a popular launch area for kayakers.

Wildlife within the park includes rare species such as the golden eagle and Alameda striped racer. Deer, raccoons, rabbits, and squirrels are often seen.
Siempre Verde Park Located at the corner of Park Street and San Leandro Boulevard, this newly renovated park provides open green space and recreational facilities for the neighborhoods surrounding it. There are two picnic areas, two half basketball courts, two play area, outdoor table tennis and restrooms.
An important neighborhood park located on Wicks Boulevard at Elvina Drive. Over the years, four regulation ball fields have been developed here for organized baseball league play. There are also four barbecue pits, six picnic tables, a half court basketball court, restrooms and a concession booth.

Thrasher Park Located at the intersection of Davis Street and Orchard Avenue, is the City's oldest park. Renovated in 1992, this community park has several unique features, including a lighted regulation softball field, a skateboard park, and a historical railway society building.

Washington Manor Park This 15-acre neighborhood park is located at 14900 Zelma, near Manor Boulevard. Its amenities include a new aquatic center with a variety of water features and a community room, tennis courts, barbecue pits, basketball courts, playground apparatuses, two softball areas and an open grassy field.
