Tara devi temple is situated at awesome location. The views are great specially from Dhudadhari Mata temple. The road to temple is steep climb and only local drives should drive here. Then view of Shimla city from here is unmatched to any other location. Definitely worth the visit. Also you take back blessing from the Tara mata.
No traffic is allowed on The Ridge or The Mall. It would be a fairly short uphill walk from Woods to The Ridge. No doubt your hotel can advise best place for tuk-tuk /taxi to drop you for access to The Mall/ Ridge if you don't want to walk up there.
