The park is composed of approximately 2.7 acres of turf, along with basketball courts, a children’s playground, a small picnic shelter with tables and a grill. In 2011, the park went through a renovation. The turf field is occasionally used for organized soccer practices. In 1981, this park was dedicated to former Mayor Alvin B. Thomas.
This larger park is home of the Winburn Ponds, a small gazebo and a large turf field. The turf field is utilized seasonally for football and rugby practices. This park is home to Art on Parade winner “Ascension.” In 1987, the park was named in honor of former Mayor Charles C. Winburn.
Clear Creek is a tributary of the South Platte River, approximately 66 miles (106 km) long, in north central Colorado in the United States. The creek flows through Clear Creek Canyon in the Rocky Mountains directly west of Denver, descending through a long gorge to emerge on the Colorado Eastern Plains where it joins the South Platte.
Clear Creek Valley Park. Clear Creek Valley Park is the newest gem in the District park’s system. The first phase of this 80 acre park includes open space, grass fields, playgrounds, shelters, wildlife viewing lakes, a large central ponds, trails, a community garden and much more.
Inside E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park, west of E. 117th Ave. & Lincoln St. The Don Anema Skatepark is located at the southeast corner of E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park, 11801 Community Center Drive. The 15-20,000 square feet concrete project has both street and vertical elements.
Across from City Hall on Community Center Drive is the award-winning E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park, one of the city's most frequented facilities. The popularity of the park is well established in the community, as it hosts the city's July 4th Family Festival and Art on Parade exhibit.
Heron Pond/Heller Open Space Close to downtown, this small lake ringed with trees is in the middle of an urban open space, but can attract surprising birds. Look for ducks in the colder months, and in migration, hope for a wandering prairie bird like a Loggerhead Shrike or a Lark Bunting; they aren’t normally found in the city, but occasionally stop here due to the open habitat.
William Lowther was born in 1757 and he was about 52 years old when he built Lowther Castle. He was the eldest son of Reverend Sir William Lowther and Anne Zouch. He was educated at Cambridge University and in 1780 at the age of 23 he became a Member of Parliament.

Northwest Open Space Northwest Open Space is a 50-acre athletic complex that is utilized throughout the year for youth and adult soccer, football, cross-country, baseball and softball. The fencing, infield mix and backstops on the ball fields were replaced in 2010, along with the addition of a new soccer field.
