The remains of the antique town of Kabile are situated at a distance of 8 km from the town of Yambol. The place was declared an archaeological reservation of national significance by issue 24 of the State Gazette of 1969. The first research in the region was performed in 1912.
The Yambol Historical Museum is housed in a two-storey building in the centre of town. It was established in 1952 as a natural successor of local scientific and archaeological societies. Today the museum’s collection numbers approximately 93,000 exhibits, some of which of great artistic and historical value.
