James Buchanan (April 23, 1791 – June 1, 1868) was the fifteenth president of the United States (1857–1861).
At age sixteen, James Buchanan was admitted to Dickinson College in Carlisle where he proved to be a conscientious and popular student.
James Buchanan served from March 4, 1857 to March 3, 1861.
