Anointing with oil, as in the early Christian church, is a practice in some Pentecostal churches performed during the consecration or ordination of pastors and elders as well as during healing of the sick.
The Pentecostal churches Igreja do Evangelho Completo de Deus, Assembleias de Deus, Igrejas de Cristo and the Assembleias Evangelicas de Deus Pentecostales are among the largest denominations of Mozambique.
