Choosing between Edmonton and Calgary is like picking a favourite child. It’s a tough call, but my editor insisted. In the end, I choose Calgary partly because it has two significant natural advantages — the warm Chinook winds in winter and closer proximity to the mountains. read more
Edmonton is certainly colder. No question there. Calgary is subject to warm winds in the winter that can cause a significant and very sudden temperature rises that are most appreciated. I think that Edmonton is a prettier city. But besides those two factors, there is little to choose between them. read more
