Two thing s are here: Black holes: Not all galaxies do have a supermassive black hole in their centre. We have found several examples of larger galaxies without them and dwarf galaxies seem to lack them completely. Orbit: Hardly any star is orbiting around a supermassive black hole. read more

All galaxies are revolving around the center of our universe. The universe’s center as thought by many scientists is a supermassive black hole. We do not know for sure, but it is a possibility that all galaxies are revolving around a supermassive black hole. Peace. read more

As per me, galaxies are not revolving around a black hole. First of all, we need to remember that universe is expanding, and expansion cannot occur in the presence of black hole. Also there is no pattern found in our neighbouring galaxies related to rotational movement around a supposed black hole. read more

All of this is rather unfortunate for us, in fact: if the rotation rates of galaxies did increase because of supermassive black holes, then we could look for this increase and use it to hunt down the black holes. As it is, however, black holes are rather hard to identify in galaxy centres, because their effects are so localized. read more
