No. All of professional baseball uses wood bats, and for good reason. I wouldn't want to think of guys like Aaron Judge swinging aluminum bats. When his HRs have a exit velocity now of over 100 MPH, how much more would it be with aluminum? Pitchers would be in danger. read more

No. Minor League baseball is affiliated with Major League baseball, so the reason for no aluminum baseball bats is two-fold: Minimize the opportunity for a pitcher or other defender to become seriously injured. Exit velocities and ball speeds are much higher off a metal bat than a wood bat. Players in MiLB have the goal of playing in MLB. read more

It took them a few tries (BSER was implemented in 1986 to limit performance, and it helped some but not 100%), but the BBCOR standard used today has returned the performance of composite and metal bats to essentially the same as that of wooden bats.
