Mayans are not extinct. There are seven million of them. (Maya peoples - Wikipedia). In contrast, there were once eight million, during the height of the Mayan Civilization. Mayan languages are still spoken by many of the living Maya. What did happen was a collapse of most of the cities. A few (Mayapan - Wikipedia) limped on. read more
