Are cockatiels louder than budgies?

Overall, I find cockatiels more hand tame than budgies, but unlike the author, I certainly do not find them to be passive. Mine are confident, strong flyers, territorial, messy, noisy and curious. They love to be with other cockatiels, and are very cute to watch in a group hanging out on the floor. read more

i think a cockatiel is ok, but they are definately louder than a budgie. Also, just because your sister likes her doesnt mean you should give her away. I'm sure your sister is a responsible girl, capable of taking care of your budgie. read more

You're thinking of parakeets for the "more sit and chat than fiddlers" There's a big difference between American budgies and English Budgies. American Budgies are smaller, more active, and less cuddly. English Budgies are a little bigger and the males can be great talkers too. read more
