Most cops I know are CPR certified, usually with the AHA CPR for healthcare providers course, or the Heartsaver with AED and first aid course. Some of them are trained to the first responder level, which is similar to EMT training but not as in depth. read more
Forty-nine of the States have some type of police officer accreditation. In California, it is “Peace Officers Standards and Training” or POST. In Delaware, it is called “Council on Police Training” and so forth. In California, CPR is a basic police officer requirement. read more
