Are cotton mouths more dangerous than copperheads?

Range: The Cottonmouth is more southern, and the Copperhead range is more eastern and extends further north. Both are found primarily in water areas - in the south, Cottonmouth just love swamps, more than big, clear lakes. The cottonmouth is much more venomous than the copperhead. The Cottonmouth is just venomous enough to kill a person, making it more dangerous. People can usually survive Copperhead bites, but with extreme tissue loss and damage due to its venom. read more
