Universities in other countries can get really expensive. Unless you are an amazing student who can get a scholarship or if you want to work there once you graduate, it would be difficult. A ranking is something for politicians, not for scientists. Scientists research at institutes in Germany not at universities. I think, the US rankings are garbage. You cannot compare different systems. US universities need a good ranking of course — they are mainly financed by private institutions. read more
