What I like and how I describe it may very different than your tastes and descriptions. That doesn't make either right or wrong. The juice in grapefruits (and all citrus fruits) is high in citric acid. This will contribute a sour taste to the juice and fruit. The more sugar, the less acidic it will taste. read more

So the grapefruits are probably less bitter, but you're also noticing it less. read more

Grapefruit isn't like orange, so you can pull it apart without the membranes breaking and letting out all the juice. They (carpels/endocarp) look like small pearls and won't taste as bitter. Without the pith, bursting the endocarp releases what your brain will pick up as a fruity sugary water. read more
