Are kangaroos generally docile or aggressive around people?

I went to a petting zoo in Tasmania. This one is eating out of the palm of my hand. This one is jumping up on me to see if I have more food. The kangaroos I was around were in a petting zoo type of situation. read more

Kangaroos are VERY PLACID animals, but like ALL wild animals they will become aggressive when provoked or when their life is threatened. As with ALL WILD animals (unless they are RABID) they are never friendly. read more

At one extreme: Wild kangaroos tend to leave people alone and will usually hop away on sight of a human. In the middle: Captive kangaroos, or wild kangaroos which become accustomed to people who feed them in picnic areas, can become cheeky.
