Last week in the Torah portion of Shemini in Leviticus the details of kosher animals were told to Moses. The two very clear requirements were that a land animal have split hooves and chew it's cud. They have to do both. A kangaroo having neither split hooves nor cud to chew would therefore be a non-Kosher animal. read more
