Very rare in inner and middle suburbs of major cities. That said, some cities have national parks and bush reserves where the wildlife including 'roos live. Here in canberra there is a lot of green space. read more

Not normally, especially in cities, but it could happen in country towns. When I lived in the Western Australian desert, there would occasionally be a group of enormous red kangaroos (bigger than I was at the time) feasting on our front lawn.
