Are llamas used in the Himalayas?

A variety of Llamas ,of Andean Mountains are presntly being reared a in a small farm near Godavary in Nepal. I am not aware of any other habitat of Llamas in the Himalayas. read more

Llamas were originated in the plains of North America about 40 m.a. and about 3 m.a. they migrated to Andes region in South America. Whereas Alpacas were introduced to Himalayan region by Nepalis just because of their wools about 20 years ago. read more

They used llamas for many purposes in addition to carrying heavy loads. The llamas’ fleece (shorn hair) was used to make clothing and ropes. Their hides were used to make sandals. read more
