Are male reporters allowed in WNBA locker rooms?

Best Answers

I covered the WNBA for a decade, and we always had post-game access to the locker room. Most of the players stayed in uniform, while others showered and wore robes. The notion that men aren't allowed in women's locker rooms is a myth. read more

Not positive what the policy is for WNBA but for other female locker rooms (and possibly WNBA) there's a timeframe to allow the athletes time to shower and change before reporters are allowed in. Male reporters are allowed in some female locker rooms but not before this time has elapsed. read more

Male reporters ARE allowed in the locker rooms of female athletes. What's more, female sports journalists have not ever sued (or complained to) sports teams about seeing a penis or a naked male athlete while conducting interviews in the locker room. read more

Reporters are allowed into men's locker rooms 5 - 10 minutes after the game is over for a quick cooling off period. And then they can stay until the final player has undressed, showered and re-dressed. All in front of reporters. Reporters are allowed into SOME women's locker rooms after a 5 - 10 minute cooling off period as well. read more
