If the cabinets are sealed with Formica - which forms a barrier to any off-gassing of formaldehyde, your risk is minimal. In addition, the wood oxidizes over time and formaldehyde emissions are reduced even more. Unless you are sensitive to Formaldehyde, which is also present in plywood, furniture, and carpets, your risk should be minimal. read more
The only problems that I’ve ever had with old ammo have been hangfires, which I always find rather intimidating, and ammo that doesn’t fire at all. Both situations have been pretty rare.
