From what I've just read, the bite is very painful, but not life threatening or dangerous. I’d never heard of these beetles before. They're massive! From the size of the beetle and its mandibles, you might need to put some gauze and pressure on the wound, after washing it with saline or water. They seem able to rip chunks out of people's flesh. read more
