Are there any bad verses in the New Testament?

I think most people agree that the God of the old testament is horrible, but I don't think the God of the new testament is any better. The last half of the book of Mark is, in general, pretty darn bad. Especially the crucifixion of Jesus. read more

Cruelty in the New Testament. Matthew. Those who bear bad fruit will be cut down and burned"with unquenchable fire." 3:10, 12. Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn't the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. 5:17. Jesus recommends that to avoid sin we cut off our hands and pluck out our eyes. read more
