Apart from immigrants on last decades, there are very very few local Black Afrian origin people live in Turkey. However they are not known by most of Turks. They came mostly to mediterran islands such as Cyprus and Crete during Ottoman rule. read more

Black people are obviously not the native people of today’s Turkey. They have been brought as a slave or they came for seeking job. But at the end, i dont think we misbehaved them like in Europe or U.S. (even though making them slave was misbehaving them but this was not for just black people but also other people too. read more

Some of the descendants of the African settlers remain, mixed with the rest of the population in these areas, and many migrated to larger cities.
