I have never been to Taipei, but I know coconut tree is a tropical plant, while Taipei is in subtropical zone, so I don't think Taipei is a good place fot growing it. As far as I am concerned, only very few of them are planted in south part of Taiwan. read more

yes, gobs of palm trees. Different varieties of coconuts are here. The brown fuzzy kind dont appear to be around (like in Hawaii), but perhaps thats just me not being observant. You can see gigantic fan palms and the betel nut palms quite often. The Los Angeles style palms are not quite as easy to find. read more
