Hiroshima (1995)-- a Canadian-Japanese co-production, and so not a product of Hollywood -- is nearly as good. Its mixture of historical footage, dramatized scenes involving actors, and talking-head interviews with actual participants takes some getting used to, but it captures the political complexities of the bombing (and Japan's response) better than any other English-language film. read more
