Saints don't do miracles. Saints are believed to intercede to God on our behalf. God performs miracles. The canonization process the Church uses to investigate petitions for stehood did not exist in Cecilia's time. Anyone who died as a Martyr for the faith prior to the canonization process was given the title Sainthood by acclaimation. read more

Saint Cecilia in the Catholic Church is the patron saint of musicians and of the blind. Her feast day, celebrated both in the Catholic and Orthodox Church, is November 22. It was long supposed that she was a noble lady of Rome who, with her husband Valerian, his brother Tiburtius, and other friends whom she had converted, suffered martyrdom, C. 230, under the emperor Alexander Severus. read more

Miracles were not required for declaring a person a saint in the early years of Chrisitianity. Cecilia would have been declared a saint by popular acclamation to a bishop based on the lives and merits of the candidate. read more
