Are there any Sami heavy metal bands?

None really. Some Metal bands indeed have used Sámi elements in their music (Shaman, Finntroll, Waltari) but there are no Metal band, to my knowledge, which has described or publicized itself as a "Sámi Metal" band. read more

From what I have read, the Finnish band Shàman is the only exclusively Sami-styled heavy metal band. The vocalist of Shàman sang a few songs for a band named Finntroll. Two other black metal bands have incorporated the joik or "yoik" style of singing in a few of their songs; Barathrum from Finland and Arckanum from Sweden. read more

A few years ago here in Honduras there were very few death metal bands, of which a grand total of one was (semi-)active. But over time more bands showed up and now you have about twenty of them. Same happened with symphonic metal over there. read more
