There are the Chaudière Falls on The Ottawa River, the Rideau Falls where the Ottawa and Rideau rivers meet, and the Hog's Back Falls just south of Dow's Lake. There are waterfalls at Manotick, Smith's Falls (duh) and a few other places I can't think of off the top of my head. Back when the Ottawa area was a center of the lumber trade, waterfalls powered the sawmills. read more

Hogs Back Falls are the “grande dame” of Ottawa waterfalls.-Hogs Back Falls — Hogs Back Road and Riverside Drive, Ottawa. They may not be Niagara Falls, but the “grande dame” of Ottawa waterfalls is pretty awesome to behold, regardless of the season. read more
