Yes, there are more than one Dalai Lama - but as Lerissa mentioned, there is only one Dalai Lama at a time. I am no expert of Tibet or Buddhism but yes, I love to know about Buddhists, Tibbet in particular (I remember about those days when I use to sport the Free Tibet T-shirts). As others have said, there is one Dalai Lama at a time. Each is a reincarnation of the previous Dali Lama, who in turn is an incarnation of Avalokiteśvara so it is limited to one. There are other important Lamas, such as the Panchen Lama, who is a reincarnation of the Amitabha Buddha. read more
