Probably not. ICC’s live piracy map reports zero pirate attacks in the Bahamas from 2015 to 2017. The closest to the Bahamas that modern Caribbean pirates operate is Haiti. The Bahamas are a bit too close for comfort to the U.S. Coast Guard’s area of operations; Haiti and the northern shores of South America are somewhat less risky for pirates. read more
