Can a ferret get the hiccups?

If the ferret would get hiccups a LOT, like several times a day, lasting for a long time (as in 5 minutes or more), I’d probably want the ferret to be checked out by a vet. Hiccups in ferrets seem to be caused by the same thing that causes hiccups in humans, and, like humans, they aren’t usually something to be concerned about. read more

My ferret gets a case of the hiccups about once a week. First two times she was playing, and the last time she was tired and getting ready to sleep. The last time I gave her some water and they went away. read more
