Cats regularly best much larger dogs. They're quicker and have more weapons. Even a strong and quick athletic 250 pound human would have trouble with an 80 pound cat. If the human came away at all, they would come away with significant battle damage. read more

Bobcat can and do take down full grown deer when they need to. They do have the power and "equipment" to do the same with humans. Not sure if your story is real or not but approaching like that could make them feel a threat and attack. I photograph predators from time to time. read more
