Can a regular X-ray show colon cancer?

Best Answers

No. Plain x-ray of abdomen is relatively non helpful. Better test is to place a white harmless fluid called barium into a cleansed colon and take images after that (called a barium enema, performed for over 40 years). read more

A simple X-ray image (native image) of the abdomen canĂ¢ t detect colon cancer, but it can tell us if there is some intestinal obstruction present, or not. If there is an obstruction present, you can then research the possible cause of the obstruction, including colon cancer. More information about colon cancer can be gathered via an irigography. read more
