Can another country check the fingerprints on a passport?

I can't speak to others countries' policies, but in the U.S., one's fingerprints are not associated with a passport. Most fingerprint records in the U.S. are maintained by the Dept. of Justice. Passports are issued by the State Department. read more

Most fingerprint records in the U.S. are maintained by the Dept. of Justice. Passports are issued by the State Department. This is conjecture, but I doubt that most countries that do associate fingerprint records with a passport are going to allow another country to access those records. read more
